Description

When to use a custom 4.3 inch video brochure

The 4.3 inch Custom Video Brochure is the portable middle of the Custom line. It is small enough to mail at standard rates or hand across a table, and big enough to carry a real story on screen. Sales teams use it for high volume account based marketing where the target list runs into the hundreds, for trade show leave behinds with select prospects, for direct mail campaigns aimed at mid market executives, and for recruiting campaigns where personalization matters but mailing cost is still a factor.

It is the size most B2B buyers land on once they have priced the alternatives. A smaller screen keeps the unit cost down but gives the video very little room to work. A larger screen carries more presence and costs more to produce and to ship. The 4.3 sits where those two pressures meet, which is why our own size guide calls it the most popular B2B choice.

What the 4.3 inch screen actually gives you

The screen runs at 480 by 272 pixels in a 16:9 frame. That is a widescreen shape, so footage shot for social or for a website plays in its native proportions with no letterboxing and no awkward crop. You are not reformatting a video to suit the hardware.

At this size the picture reads clearly at arm’s length, which is how the piece is almost always watched. Someone opens the cover at their desk and the video starts. They are not holding it at a distance, and they are not sharing the screen with a room. Shoot for that viewing distance and the 4.3 is the right amount of screen.

Planning the video

Keep the cut tight. The value of a video brochure is that the message starts the instant the cover opens, so the opening seconds carry most of the weight. Lead with the thing you would say first if the recipient were standing in front of you.

Favor close framing over wide establishing shots. At 480 by 272 a wide shot of a factory floor loses its detail, while a face, a product in hand, or a clear on screen title holds up well. If your footage carries important text, size it for the screen rather than reusing lower thirds built for a desktop edit.

Audio matters more than people expect. The unit has a speaker with adjustable volume, and the recipient usually hears it in a quiet office. A clean voiceover does more work here than a music bed.

What is included

Each unit ships with your video pre loaded in MP4 format and your custom printed hard cover. The 4.3 inch LCD plays automatically when the cover opens, runs from a rechargeable lithium battery, includes adjustable speaker volume, and connects over USB so the video can be swapped after delivery. Every unit carries a one year screen warranty and is assembled in our Florida facility.

That swap matters on longer campaigns. A recipient who keeps the piece on a desk can be sent a new video later without you producing another run, which is part of why these survive in a drawer rather than a recycling bin.

Artwork, pricing and lead time

Volume pricing applies at 25, 50, 100, 250 and 500 units, and runs $34 to $49 per unit at volume. Lead time is typically two to three weeks from artwork approval, so work back from your event or mail date when you plan the run. Price matching is available.

Brand guidance comes at no cost. If you want us to produce the artwork rather than supply your own, that is quoted as a separate line, and delivery is quoted separately as well, for bulk shipping to a single address and for mailing to a list.

Common questions about the 4.3 inch format

Can I change the video after the units ship? Yes. Each unit connects over USB and the MP4 can be replaced, which is the usual route for a campaign that runs past one message.

How long can the video be? Long enough for the message you actually need, and shorter usually wins, because the piece is opened at a desk and watched once.

Does it play the moment it opens? Yes. Playback triggers when the cover opens, with no button to find and nothing to scan.

What file do I send? MP4. If your editor exports something else, send it over and we will handle the conversion.

Can I see one before ordering? Yes. We keep samples for exactly this reason, and holding the hardware answers most of the questions a spec sheet cannot.
